Introduction

Invitation from the Chairmen

On behalf of the organizers of the 2013 Cryogenic Engineering Conference and International Cryogenic Materials Conference, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend this 19th joint CEC/ICMC 2013. The conferences are being held in the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center, located in the heart of Anchorage, Alaska, the largest, most modern facility of its kind in the state. You will enjoy a state-of-the-art facility with comfortable meeting rooms and halls that offer spectacular views and a wonderful exposure to Alaskian culture. Artwork displayed throughout the Dena’ina Center uniquely depicts how the building is tied to the land and its original Dena’ina Athabascan people, reminding visitors that although Anchorage is a vibrant city, it is also a place of history and culture that dates back thousands of years. Individual rooms in Dena’ina feature wonderful works of Alaska Native art, including masks, prints and paintings. Around Anchorage you will find abundant opportunities for recreation and sightseeing – lakes, mountains, glaciers, wildlife and so much more.

The technical program of the conferences will, as usual, feature the latest research and state-of-the-art developments in all cryogenics areas, including superconductivity, cryocoolers, cryogenic materials, and applications. Anchorage provides an exciting and relaxing backdrop for discussing the latest cryogenics results, sharing experience, and planning future collaborations and projects.

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us at CEC/ICMC 2013. We’ll see you there.
